Are you scared about labor?
I wouldn't use the word scared, I'm more nervous than anything. I don't want anything to go wrong with Paisleigh. I hope everything goes smoothly for the both of us, and she comes out a healthy baby. At the end of all the pain and discomfort, I will have an amazing little girl that is well worth everything I'm about to go through.
Who will be in the delivery room with me?
With this being my first child and not knowing what I'm about to go through, I do NOT want more than two people in the room with me. I plan to only have Brad and my mom in the room while I'm in labor.
How much weight have I gained?
Before I got pregnant I weighed 130lbs. I now weigh 152lbs with 6 weeks and 1 day to go. So, if you do the math I have gained a total of 22lbs since becoming pregnant.
Have I changed since becoming pregnant?
I have seen a huge change in myself the past 6 months. Not only have I seen a change, but others around me have as well. Maturity hit me hard. I know I have a child on the way and I don't have time for petty drama. I have learned to let all the bull crap slide and move forward.
My Birth Plan
We are looking forward to the birth of our first child together, a daughter, in July. We are not anticipating any problems. We ask that the following wishes be respected during this birth.
We plan to have present at this birth our midwife, the father and my mother. We ask that all other visitors and unnecessary staff be turned away until we (the parents) have had time alone with our new daughter.
The birth environment is very important to us. For that reason we asked that the lights be kept dim, noise be avoided and the door closed for privacy.
We would like to have a "natural birth"- avoiding all medications if possible. If an event should arrive where medication should be needed we would like discussion of alternatives and consequences.
We would especially like to avoid labor induction (pitocin). We would prefer to initially try other methods of induction (changing positions, walking, ect.).
During labor we would like the ability to:
walk freely;
use the shower and labor tub;
change positions throughout;
have a quiet and encouraging environment.
We would like the baby to be placed on the mother chest immediately after birth in order to "bond" and nurse. As well, we would like any tests done to the baby while placed in the mothers chest.
We would like to NOT have a mirror present at birth. We do not want to view the baby crowning. The father does want to cut the cord.
Postpartum Wishes
We would like to have a private room. We would like all procedures done at bedside. We would also prefer the baby to "room in" full-time. We would like to meet with a lactation consultant regarding breastfeeding.

33 weeks & 2 days pregnant
She is keeping her eye's open while awake. She's also starting to coordinate breathing with sucking and swallowing. Her bones are hardening, and she's going through (more) major brain development. She weighs about 4.2 to 5.8 pounds and measures about 17.2 to 18.7 inches , and she may grow up to a full inch this week.
Pregnancy symptoms at 33 weeks...
Pregnancy symptoms at 33 weeks...
- HOT! Your metabolic rate is through the roof, and that may leave you feeling overheated.
- Headaches, due to hormone fluctuations, stress or dehydration.
- Shortness of breath -- though you're probably used to it by now.
- Forgetfulness and clumsiness, also known as baby brain. This is totally normal.
Am I ready to be a mommy?
Oh gosh, I'm more than ready. I may be getting ready to be thrown for a loop, but I can't wait to be a mommy. I'm ready to deal with sleepless nights, a cranky baby, and all the other baggage that comes with being a mommy. I have accepted the fact that I am not only living for myself, but I'm also living for a little girl who depends on me. I'm very anxious to meet my daughter.
Most difficult thing about being a mom-to-be
The most difficult thing about being a mommy-to-be is taking advise from other mommies. The reason I say this is because people have different opinions about everything. One mom can give me her opinion about a certain situation, and another mom can tell me her opinion that's totally opposite from the other mom. Some opinions I agree with, some I do not. I feel like I'll be judged for some of the choices I make for my daughter.
What sex did I hope for?
Honestly, I would have been happy either way. If I would have had a boy, then great. He would have been spoiled rotten and loved just like Paisleigh. I'm overjoyed to be blessed with a baby girl. I can dress her up, and paint her nails. She is already my little princess. My daughter and I will definitely have an unbreakable bond.
What trimester are you in, and how do you feel?
I am in my 3rd trimester with 7 weeks & 5 days to go. I feel like a broken down roller coaster that has been sitting for months. I cannot do half of the things I was doing in my 2nd trimester. (Like cleaning & rearranging!) The 3rd trimester is kicking my butt! From getting off the couch, to walking into a store, I find myself always trying to catch my breath. I have been having a lot of heart burn in the 3rd trimester which I find very weird because I never got in in my 1st & 2nd trimester, and I never got it when I wasn't pregnant either. I have been having major back pains and the only thing that seems to help me is a heating pad. I will sometimes get leg cramps but they are very rare for me. The past couple of weeks I have had achy, swollen, feet. My feet are also beginning to crack as well. I have been using Gold Bond foot therapy to help which seems to be working great. I have had a bunch of Braxton Hicks which is normal, and I have also been urinating a bunch which is also normal as well. Other than being uncomfortable all the time, I love being pregnant and cherish every moment of it.
32 week's pregnant
Baby is getting ready for her descent shes likely in the head-down position now. And shes probably feeling even more cramped. Still growing, baby weighs in at about 2.5 to 3.8 pounds and measures about 15.2 to 16.7 inches.
At 32 weeks, baby's birth still seems kind of far away, but baby and I are physically ready in a lot of ways, just in case there's an early arrival. Baby may have turned so she's in the head-down position by now, poised for her trip don the birth canal. And I may have noticed my nipples looking darker. That's so a preemie can see them for breastfeeding. Isn't your body amazing? Intensity might be building in the symptoms department, as heart burn and contractions intensify around week 32.

Pregnancy symptoms at week 32...
- More Braxton Hicks contractions.
- Darker nipples, so baby can see them better.
- Shortness of breath, don't worry: baby is getting plenty of air.
- Heartburn. Go ahead and pop an antacid.
- Enlarged breast that may leak.
- Vaginal discharge. Your body is preparing for delivery by preventing infection down there.
My 'Finding out' story
5/6/2015
Late October of 2014, Brad (my boyfriend) and I both noticed I was getting sensitive to certain smells. Honestly, neither one of us thought anything of it, so we just pushed it off. On November 21, 2014, my sister had an appointment to get birth control (what a coincidence right!?) while I had an appointment across the hospital to get a shot for school. Brad and I went to my appointment, while my mom and sister went to her appointment. As I walked to the doctor's office, I mentioned to Brad the whole me being pregnant situation. We both thought I should let the doctor know before getting the shot. When we arrived at the doctor's office, they immediately called me back. As we were walking to a room, I explained to my nurse that there was a chance I could possibly be pregnant. I took a pregnancy test, and waited in the room for what it felt like hours. Brad and I were getting nervous by the second. My nurse finally came back in the room, she had a bag of prenatal vitamins, and a positive pregnancy test in her hand. She then began to tell Brad and I that I was about 10 weeks pregnant, and it was not safe for me to get the shot. I got teary eyed and I was very scared. I had no idea how I was going to tell my mom and dad. The nurse went on to tell me about an OB in the same hospital, and told me I needed to follow up with an OB asap. We left my doctor and slowly walked to my mom down the hallway. I walked into the office and asked for my sisters room. A nurse took me back to my mom and sister. Before my mom could even get a word out of her mouth, I gave her the pregnancy test, told her I was pregnant and I was not able to get the shot for school. My mom then cried, handed me back the test, and proceeded to tell me I had a long ride ahead of me. I went home with Brad that day because I was to scared to go home and face my dad. My mom told my dad the big news the next day, he didn't talk to me for about a week, but I understood why. When my dad worked up the courage to talk to me, he told me there was nothing anyone could do but to be there for me, just be happy, and make the best out of it. From that day forward both my parents have been here for me, and have been ecstatic about being grandparents.

Introducing me & welcoming 31 weeks
Hello everyone, I'm Anna, and I'm your bump girl. I'm 18 years old, and TODAY I'm 31 weeks pregnant with a baby girl (Paisleigh).
At 31 weeks, baby is going through major brain and nerve development. Baby is also going through eye development as well, and baby's irises now react to light. All 5 of baby's senses are in working order. Baby is about 15.2 to 16.7 inches long and weighs about 2.5 to 3.8 pounds this month.
Some pregnancy symptoms at 31 weeks...
- Out of breath, since baby is squishing your lungs.
- Dry, brittle nails, thanks to all that extra nails growth.
- Braxton Hicks contractions. Be sure you're drinking plenty of water and changing positions often.
- Leaky boobs. That's baby's first food, called colostrum.
- Frequent urination. Your bladder's just as crowded as your lungs.
- Back aches. Be sure to keep stretching.
- Difficulty sleeping. Aches and pains, your big belly, pregnancy hormones, heartburn and anxiety are probably all contributing.
